I was asked by several people why I was not ready put a few tips for the perfect LAN party (?). To be honest, I have no idea! Well, follow good advice for a LAN party. These include a good location, catering for gamers society, and hardware you need some really good games that may be missing on any LAN. I want the same to the games
Let's start with the location, where I go just like that there is a LAN with the friends and is not a public, Giant-LAN - because the organizers of such parties are usually well informed and need no advice of this page. Depending on how many gamers you invite, you need a correspondingly large space: living room, dining room, winter garden - whatever - the main thing is it is large enough to accommodate your guests. If there are still a few more people, or no suitable location available, it lends itself also to also to rent a room.
we come now to the hardware. If one assumes that everyone brings their own PC, you really only need a switch or router and each host a network cable. The whole then and ready to wire.
Now for food. Here opinions differ - some say "enough chips and Coke!", Others say "A cold buffet has to her already, and without Red Bull and / or coffee is nothing anyway". Now it's up to you what you want to do. Depending on whether your buddies with ten bags of chips and twelve liters of Coke to settle, or just expect culinary miracles, you have to buy accordingly. If it is the former that is probably not a problem, it should be his second, get a couple of meatballs, cheese-on-toothpick-thing, make a salad to make more Knabberkram and cook sausages for gamers - the main thing is sufficient for the next 2-3 days. When everything is finished and no longer feels like to face in the kitchen and make something, you can order pizza just yet.
we come now to the main part of a LAN party: the Games! Well, that can include Counter Strike and Warcraft will probably not be mentioned that, but for completeness I will bring these two classics in the following list. If you have any fantastic games that are not listed here, please drop Just a comment on the bottom of this page, with the game name and an idea - the whole should then look something like this (and otherwise):
game name
description (1-3 Sets)
Sun now to the games: Counter Strike
- : Everyone knows it, most love it. Two teams with good team play and tactics to defeat the opposing team. Let prevent it by a successful attack / this, initially all the hostages release / prevent this, or the extinction of all other team members. Due to the huge community, there are a lot of modifications and Fun Maps, which I will not enumerate here, are responsible for others;)
- Warcraft: You can have your people, build a small settlement, train fighters and destroy your opponent! If that's no fun I do not remember it. Similar to Counter Strike provides the community here again for many modifications, maps, etc.
- Unreal Tournament : Two teams, different game modes: Death Match (the one who survived the only one who wins), Team Death Match (the same, only just on the team), Capture the Flag (Each team has a base and a flag, the team has the enemy steal and own take), from Unreal Tournament 2003, there is the Onslaught mode (two teams have to bring different areas under control - which team has the end all, has won). The scenario is set in the future. Accordingly, the vehicles and weapons designed and Network, there are many mods and maps to enhance the game
- Battlefield : There are too many battlefields and many modifications and maps to all this now to describe in their many differences. In the end it's always about as many areas to save on the card - the more a team, the more points will be credited to the opposing team on their own point account. This then goes until one team has no points. The Battlefield series extends from 2 World War, the Vietnam war, about fictional wars in the present or even more fictitious war in the future - so it is something for everyone;)
