The Legend of Blood Castle (Ceremonia sangrienta)

Most readers probably Jorge Grau, if ever, be due to its The morgue of the living dead a term. Many of his films seem never to have made it anyway to Germany and The Legend of Blood Castle or Ceremonia sangrienta , as the title states, is one of them. That is quite a pity that this film must not hide it from other genre representatives. It tells the story of the "blood princess" Erzsébet Báthory, embodied in the film by Lucia Bosé. Nestled the whole thing is of course in the appropriate era when superstition still quite large was written, the rural population still believed in vampires and other mythical creatures. Erzsébet, however, is obsessed with her appearance and the illusion of eternal youth. No method seems to stop the aging process, however. Only when one of her maids injured and falls a little blood on skin, Erzsébet, found solution to the puzzle appears. Together with her closest confidants Nodriza she is now planning how they can get to the blood of young girls and their delusions with time IMMG greater. Soon she binds her husband, the Baron Karl Ziemmer one, which in turn has a troubled relationship to violence and that it always creates new victims. Previously, however, was faked his death and to stage the deeds from now on as if a vampire had struck, but soon there are not only among the rural population of doubt ...
Friends of the classic gothic horror film are at The Legend of Blood Castle surely tremble with the ears, the movie still playing, to create an authentic atmosphere, which is, as beautiful as morbid. Unfortunately, the film unfortunately sickly mainly his story and the staging of the story, which is becoming much too late to ride. THUS TO viewer is presented with a vampire minute process because of its irrationality has indeed very visual attraction, the tension breaks, but again and again. Also acts to confused many a scene sequence, which can either be at the English dub or yet to be writer weaknesses. Specifically for the collection of Charles Erzsébet deeds is very difficult to understand. The remaining production of the film is quite tame way. Only in the international cut version there is to see bare skin, which sometimes seems almost as attached. Interested by the way faced with a difficult choice. Neither the English DVD (English version cut with alternate scenes and no English. Sound) nor the American DVD (international cut versions, with scenes from a Finnish VHS are burned Finnish Subs included) can really convince. Genre fans and cultists € but should still risk a look, the film that is worth over large distances: 6.10.
